Hydrogen Experiments

First our legal disclaimer:
The material presented here is for information purposes only. Experimenting with hydrogen and/or a mixture of hydrogen and oxygen is/can be highly dangerous and you do so entirely at you own risk. Neither Tony van Roon, Sentex Corporation (ISP), or any other person connected with the preparation or display of this material recommends you do so and they disclaim any responsibility should you decide to do so against their advice.

First things first!
Please read the cautionary note above. Tinkering with Hydrogen or Hydroxy requires caution and a well ventilated area to do your experiments. Use high quality materials and don't skimp to save a couple dollars. And most importantly, make sure your unit is not leaking! A leaky unit *will* go BOOM at the first occurrence it finds an open flame, spark, or static discharge! However, it is no different with the fuel you're already using; gasoline. Use special 'marine-goop', or 'J-B Weld' to seal around all holes, nipples, and tubing. Please make sure safety is your #1; please play it safe!

Having said that, Hydrogen (or Hydroxy) boosters are very safe if you follow the instructions and DON'T HURRY! Build it patiently, thoughtfully, and with care and you're a happy camper!

The Hydrogen system we are tinkering with is actually a so-called HydroCarbon Generator or Hydroxy or HHO for short. All hydroxy systems are based on the so called "Brown's Gas" theory supposedly invented by 'Yul Brown'. However, in reality, Brown's Gas was invented by William Rhodes who is still alive and quite healthy. George Wiseman from Eagle Research knows the works of this man very well. Why then do we still call it Brown's Gas?
I have no idea. Yul Brown was an Aussie who had the North American (US) rights to sell the Norinco Machines build by the Chinese. These rights were stolen from him by a chinese guy named Dennis Lee (claims he owns all rights to Brown's Gas) who bypassed Yul Brown and took away his business. Yul Brown went back to Australia a broken man and died shortly after. Our current technology has been independently developed and has far surpassed the *very* outdated Chinese technology and their Norinco machines. As for the patent rights; *no-one* owns them or even *can* own them since they are in the public domain. ANYTHING in the public domain is PUBLIC. They cannot be patented anytime for that particular reason. For the same reason the claims made by Dennis Lee are on shaky ground. I put my trust in companies like "Eagle-Research" and owner George Wiseman. All their products are based on extensive research (or so they claim). For myself, I make no claims whatsoever until I researched them and proven them myself. The only thing I can vouch for at this time is the EFIE module. It works! Keep in mind that there are people hired by oil & gas companies to question all ideas and inventions and feed mis-information to the media and the public to keep oil and gas on the market, and profitable! Join me in building your own device(s) and prove or disprove these claims.

But, here is an interesting link to make up your own mind or if you want to read up on more info about these claims and disclaims: Brown's Gas Rights discussions.

Unlike the existing systems now available, the Hydroxy system does not use a dangerous pressurized Hydrogen tank but rather use the HydroCarbon vapors on demand as required by your vehicle. Compare it with the 'hot-water-on-demand' systems available on the market today. Same for this system. The nick-name for this system is "HOD" which stands for "Hydrogen On Demand". Do the current systems, published on the web etc, work? The majority of them do, some are just another scam. Tinkering and fine-tuning is needed no matter if you built your own or from a kit.

Secondly, not everyone has a second vehicle handy to tinker with. Hence I mentioned to start small. Any engine will do. R/C engines 40cc and up, and other engines available today too many to mention. Pick something suitable. I myself haven't made my choice yet but will do shortly.

In the mean time, if you're unfamiliar with the hydrogen concept or the name Stanley Meyer, who was the inventor of the Hydrogen engine before he was poisoned in 1996 (because he refused to sell-out his invention to the Arab Oil company for a very large sum of money; rumors go in access of 1 billion dollars). You can read all about this great inventor on the pages below.

Stan Meyer's files, data, diagrams are *all* available for free, down at the bottom of this page. There is no guarantee how long they will be available so download it now and burn it to cd, or to a dozen cd's and give them away, send them all over the world. Those in control of oil and gas don't want anyone to have free energy or run their vehicle on water.

Oxygen Sensor:
Oxygen sensors can be found in most modern vehicles (exhaust), either with a carburetor or fuel-injection. The oxygen sensor will communicate with your vehicle's computer (ECU) to regulate the air/fuel mixture ratio, which is about 14.7 to 1. The vehicle's computer will use that information from the O2 sensor to determine if more or less gasoline should be added to the mixture to attempt to maintain the correct ratio.
More or less fuel will be added by the computer when the O2 sensor detects the amount of oxygen in the exhaust.

You see the problem when you try to change this scenario with a fuel efficiency device of any kind for any given air:fuel ratio. There will be more oxygen in the exhaust when a fuel efficiency device is installed and the computer will automatically add more fuel. The solution is simple. Adjust the signal coming from the oxygen sensor to compensate for the increased fuel efficiency. An electronic device is needed to negotiate with the computer and the oxygen sensor. Such a device is called an EFIE and can be build easily and cheaply.

Pulse Width Modulation Circuits:
First circuit(s) to look at is a PWM or so called 'Pulse Width Modulation' circuit. Many have been build for use in Radio Control, servo motors, etc. They are all proven to work. The circuit we're using is a high-amp 30A/60A type. They are easy to build. PCB's for any of these will be available when they are ready, so don't bug me about it. Why do you have to use a PWM you ask? Well, you don't have to. Your system will work without it but a PWM will smooth things out and cut your current requirements in halve, making it more cost effective too. But, in my personal opinion, a PWM is as needed as the EFIE. Check out the link below for a variable frequency Pulse Width Modulation circuit with current-limiting feature.

The Hydrogen Generator:

What Materials are good to use:
Acrylic material is excellent. It adheres a lot better when using CyanoAcrylate Ester (super-glue or CA for short) then PVC, plastic, or whatever. I personally use #406 from Loctite. Works really good. As a matter of safety, regular plastic is out. It will become brittle and crack very fast (probably within days) and starts to leak--and with one open spark somewhere it becomes a dangerous scenario!

Mason jars as used by the "Water4Gas" website are out. Glass under certain circumstances can break or crack. For that reason I refuse to use it. It is not safe in my opinion. Same for the 'bubbler', although not under a lot of pressure, why not use the correct materials and built it right? Saves you a lot of headaches down the road.

I use #316 perforated stainless steel. It is absolutely non-magnetic and doesn't rust. Second choice is #304 which is also good but seems a bit 'gummy' when you work with it. The #316 on the other hand will be workable very smooth. I believe that's the only difference between #304 and 316. Perhaps 316 is a little harder and as such can be worked easier. Anyways, pick a good material for optimum performance. Both 304 and 316 can be used.

Use acrylic also for your 'bubbler' and high-quality hoses for all your connections. Take your time building your unit and it will work and perform safely for a long time. Like checking your oil, you should check your hydro-booster also at regular intervals for leakage and repair immediately if a such leak is detected.

This part of my website is for the use of Hydrogen experiments and all the associated electronics needed to run it. Everything is free-for-all. Use it to advance into a new era. However, none of the circuits, and/or a working hydrogen system can be patented, I will make sure of that via the patent office. ANYTHING in the "Public-Domain" cannot be patented by anyone else. This way every one has a fair chance. I will *not* sell out to any oil company. They sucked us dry for decades. Apparently killed Stanley Meyers some years back, and inventors in Britain and India who discovered similar systems based on Stan Meyers findings, although it can not be proved.

When I was a 8-year old kid, back then living in the Netherlands, I had an uncle, named Joseph Wardenier, who at the time had invented his version of an engine running on water. He did his experiments in a large old shed in a small suburb of Steenwijkerwold (a subdivision of Steenwijk) in Overijsel, the Netherlands. The property at the time was owned by my grandparents (his sister Rika Wardenier and husband Antoon Nicola). Sadly, uncle Joseph sold out to one of the big oil companies. People were pretty poor those years after WWII in Europe and so money was important. Anyways, BP Petroleum Co. (i think it was) bought up his invention and the engine-on-water and locked it up for a number of years under the copyright and patent regulations at the time (don't remember the exact years, think it was 50 years or so) just to make sure gasoline would stay in demand. I was a young and playful kid and sadly uninterested in inventions of any kind at the time (even though uncle Joe asked me once "...if I was good in Math skills..." and had time to do all the math). I really hated math or any other form of 'homework' at the time and so I said "No, sorry". When I got older and finally grasped what had happened so long ago I decided to someday pick up the slack and make my system free. The poor guy never saw his invention in action, contrary to the promises they made him. Geez, we could have enjoyed an alternate fuel a good 50 years ago already. Joseph Wardenier died quietly and under mysterious circumstances. Pretty sad.

But now times have changed, and uncle Joseph's design is outdated and unfortunately no longer relevant. We have moved on. We have better equipment like computers to do the complex things for us. And the electronics industry has leaped forward a lot since 1955. On top of that, thanks to the internet and those hundreds of other tinkerers like myself the process has become a lot easier, and goes a lot faster too. You can basically 'Google' almost anything with a good hit rate to find out what you need to know. I have seen a lot of interesting design concepts and I'm convinced that a working system will *NOT* come from the automotive section or related industry, but from the basement, workshop, and garage tinkerers such as you and me! Why? Because we don't care about profit, all we want is a working system and save at the pump. All we get from our governments is misinformation to delay the process. Lately, by my research on the web, I get irritated by all those so-called "gas-for-free" websites, or whatever they call themselves, giving away plans (which they got for free themselves) for too much money. That you have to pay to get a KIT or an assembled unit, be it a PWM, EFIE, or HydroBooster, yes I can understand. Those parts and time cost money. But again, some of these guys are only money-hungry and will charge you through the nose. Paying $400 bucks for a hydrogen system is a rip off, when you can build it yourself for a fraction of the cost. I build mine for less than $30. Most of that money went for the stainless steel and the CPVC housing.
So, just keep your eyes open. If you can't built it yourself then team up with someone who can. See what you can do with an old lawnmover! In the process you will be learning a lot and move on from that point!

I decided to give away everything for free and be non-profit. Hence your donations are very important. I may sometime in the future sell kits but only charge for the parts and shipping. I'm not looking for profit of any kind and will help and assist anyone to get their fuel-saver working. Together with people from Eagle-Research and George Wiseman, we will get there without any government help. By the way, I read in one of our local papers last week (8-22-2008) that the US government feels we are ready for alternate fuels like Hydrogen in the year 2050. What!? Yep, you see it right, 2050. Yeah right, keep dreaming. You-and-I will take care of the problem ourselves immediately, heheh! Canada's viewpoint? Not 2050. I can't exactly remember a time frame, I think they mentioend 2025. That's also to long--15 years. We need need something right now, perhaps this year. Not 2025 or 2050. I guess our governments don't want to give up their massive profits from the fuel industry. My expectation is that a solution will be found from a garage and workshop tinkerer. Let's all work together here and brainstorm ourselfs to a fossil-fuel-free tomorrow.

I just created a new Forum to deal with all this stuff here: [MEC Electronics Forum]. Go to the HHO section. It is self monitoring and not moderated so getting a response to a question may or may not happen right away. Sometimes, to answer a question, may require a long time of 'thinking' so please be patient.

Now, I live in Canada and don't know exactly where our government stands on the issue or if they have a similar hidden agenda like the USA. It certainly looks like it sometimes. Though I may be wrong. Any time a government or industry is involved everything becomes secret. I don't want that. Hence I will not work together with government, defence department, or industry. I like to maintain the 'open-book' policy. Copy what you want but don't restrict it to others. Share! Having said that, all graphics, schematics, and photos are copyright © Tony van Roon. You may use anything for personal use. None of the information available from the HHO section of my website may be sold for profit. Period!

with the Greek letter 'u' or 'µ' The letter 'm' stands for 'milli'.
Making a mistake like that in a schematic diagram can mean a very big
difference in a project. So I suggest not to write mF if it has to be uF!
Same for mHenry and uHenry (mH/uH).
What am I currently working on? I'm working on and researching true water power, meaning, you stick your garden hose in the fuel
tank and run on 100% water. My research ideas are using high-voltage, high-frequency, with low amps. At the same time I'm experimenting
with water splitting using very high voltage (in the 80,000V range and higher). Not a difficult task just very time consuming.
And don't forget to get started with your own hydrogen booster for your car. Building one and tinkering with it, and the EFIE, really
gets you interested to such a degree you're unable to sleep!
Do not let ANYONE ever compromise your dream, your freedom, your independence or your truth!
