Council Plans a Retreat

For the past few months there have been updates of a "visioning" process that council has been going through with Pastor Bernie. Many council members have been made aware of an energy within the congregation of a desire to move forward and act, and we share that feeling.

Pastor Bernie has led us through a series of sessions that have been extremely thought provoking, making us think about where our congregation has come from, where we are now and how we must move forward to achieve God's will for our church. Council has therefore decided to a retreat on

Saturday, March 27

The objective is to establish firm ministry goals which we will then bring to next congregational meeting. As always, we are grateful for your continuing prayers as we work through this process together.

You are asked to especially hold council in prayer on March 27 from 9 am until 3 pm while that retreat is being held.

On behalf of council,

Craig Vander Zwaag

ARRIVED IN CAMEROON

Heidi Renkema has arrived safely in Cameroon and is looking forward to writing about her adventurous trip so far. She writes:

Thank you so much for supporting me in prayer and finances as I have been preparing for the work God has called me to do in Cameroon . I am excited to begin the agricultural work with the Baka soon, but I'm also still a little nervous about leaving everything familiar for a completely different culture. Please continue to uphold me and the ministry with the Baka in prayer. My specific requests are for safe travels to Cameroon and within the country in the first few weeks after I arrive, for adjusting to life with the Baka, and for continued provision of the financial support for my ministry. At this time, I need the last $6000 to cover all my monthly living and ministry costs for the next two years. I am truly amazed by and grateful for how God has been preparing the way before me and providing for all my needs, and I trust He will continue to do so!

LOST & FOUND

All items in lost and found will be on display in the gym for the next two weeks. Please take the time to see if anything belongs to you!

Upcoming offerings:

Sunday March 7th, 2nd offering for missionary support

Sunday March 14th, 2nd offering for CRWRC / Canadian Foodgrains Bank

The Canadian Foodgrains Bank is a Christian-based charitable organization that is working to end hunger in developing countries. The Christian Reformed World Relief Committee is one of 15 members who have an account with the Foodgrains Bank from which they can draw or they can also borrow if the need arises , so they can respond immediately when a need is placed before them.

Our support of the CRWRC / Canadian Foodgrains Bank will replenish the CRWRC account with the Foodgrains Bank.

Sunday March 14, 2010 will be CRWRC / Canadian Foodgrains Bank Sunday in our church. In past years the deacons have supported the Foodgrains Bank by sending $2000 from our diaconate fund, but this year we will send $1000 from our diaconate fund, and have a second offering on Sunday March 14,2010 to give the congregation an opportunity to support the CRWRC / Canadian Foodgrains Bank.
