features, advantages and benefits

When someone reads your text, they want to know what’s in it for them.  Every step on the path towards their purchase needs to give them more reasons why they should buy.  Their perceived fears need to be eliminated, and they have to be offered compelling positive reasons why your product or service will fulfill their needs.

I look from the reader’s viewpoint at what I’m selling, and ask myself: “What features has it got?  What advantages does it have over the competition?  What benefits will I get from using it?”  My text answers those questions while generating the interest and excitement that leads them to the sale.


unique selling proposition (USP)

Whatever you are promoting, there is always something you provide that is different or better than what anyone else offers.  Your copy should emphasize your USP so that your marketing efforts can target those who are most likely to respond to it.


friendliness

People respond to the personal touch.  I prefer to keep my writing style friendly and direct – no matter how many millions of sales you make, each one of them is made through an individual.  And every one of those people should feel that they are liked and respected, and will be provided with excellent service for as long as they are dealing with you.

I like to give my copy writing a warm human tone, to put your customers at ease and help them decide to buy.  If your business calls for the soft sell, a friendly and informative approach that denotes excellence can often close the sale better than some more aggressive tactics.

I am always careful not to overwhelm my readers with large blocks of text – with today’s information overload, they need to be able to skim through quickly and then decide if they want more detail.  Attention-grabbing headlines, callouts, and use of white space all help display your information in a way that will get read!


perfection

Nothing looks less professional than sales copy with spelling and grammatical errors.  I go over my text again and again to make sure that every word is perfect, the style is clear and consistent, and the content flows smoothly.  I like my copy writing to not only be effective, but also be a pleasure to read!
