Jeff Allan – 570 News

We were delighted to have Jeff join us as our guest speaker for our Annual Dinner meeting this past November. Linda Winteringham new LOMA President thanking Guest Speaker Jeff Allan, 570 NewsJeff kept us all entertained with his many stories of how he came to be Kitchener at 570 News and his determination to attain a successful career in the entertainment field.

Jeff has enjoyed a 30 year career in the entertainment industry, which includes time in night clubs, recording studios, rock radio, television and now news/talk radio at 570 News.

Jeff was born in Port Colborne, and grew up in London, Ontario. He attended university in Buffalo- New York, London and Toronto. His working career has taken him to Toronto, Winnipeg, Ottawa, San Francisco, London, Regina, Owen Sound and now the Waterloo region.

    He has four great loves in his life:
  • His family
  • Basketball
  • War History
  • And his 4 year old Springer Spaniel named Babe

He is also a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion – Branch 530 in Waterloo. As a war history buff, he appreciates all that our military has done for us in the past and the sacrifices made by many on our behalf in past wars and current conflicts.

One attribute that Jeff says is important to attain your goals is to keep a sense of humour and never give up. His love of life and people has allowed him to have a very successful career. He has a true gift to keep people entertained about a vast variety of topics and interests. Weekdays at 9 am he hosts “The Jeff Allan Show” at 570 News. Listeners can count on Jeff to bring the news stories everyone is talking about to the table with opinion and passion.

Our society donated $250 as a thank you to Jeff to a charity of his choice. He requested we support the MS Society, a charity that is very important to him and he actively supports because his brother suffers from this disease and he prays for a cure in our lifetime.
