Experience

Neil E. Taylor has just retired as a Secondary School teacher with experience in teaching students from 9 years old to Seniors. His eclectic interests and background have allowed him to teach English, History, Music, Art, Mathematics, Geography, Science, Drama, Reading, Special Education, Writing, Physical Education, Sailing, and Birding. 

Mr. Taylor has been active within the teaching profession outside of the classroom. He has taught teachers at Western University and for two years co-chaired the organization of Professional Development Days for the entire Waterloo County Board of Education. He has also coached sports and produced and or directed 6 musicals. 

Mr. Taylor has been an Appellant before the Ontario Municipal Board on 4 separate occasions. He has represented himself and others with respect to legal, municipal planning, environmental, educational and social matters. He is able to proudly boast that he has enjoyed success well-beyond the provincial norm. He is very familiar with the Ontario Municipal Board, the Ombudsman of Ontario, the Freedom of Information and Privacy Commission of Ontario as well as the major Provincial Statutes governing these. Appreciation has been extended to Mr. Taylor by Municipalities, Developers, as well as the Ontario Municipal Board itself. 

Mr. Taylor is a Past President of the KitchenerWaterloo Field Naturalists and a former Director of the Federation of Ontario Naturalists and a Life-time member of the Federation of Ontario Naturalists. He was also a long time member of the Toronto Men Teachers' Choir

Mr. Taylor is an avid reader and a devoted listener to CBC Radio. These interests together with his education, training and in-the-field experiences in the various areas outlined on the site, together with his enthusiasm and sense of humour, have allowed him to bring a unique approach to tourism and his business as a consultant. 

 

Family:

Neil E. Taylor is married to Titia (Maria), and they have two sons, Kevin and James. Titia is a Professor at Conestoga College in Early Childhood Education. Kevin has graduated with a Masters of Arts degree in history at Wilfred Laurier University in Waterloo. James attends Wilfred Laurier University in Waterloo this year.
