Creating a HyperStudio Stack with Links to the WWW

e.g. discover.stk

1. Create a stack on the topic of your choice.

2. Create text fields and type in the text that is appropriate to your topic.

3. Highlight text that you want to use as a hypertext link and pick a highlight colour to make it stand out.

4. Choose the Hypertext Link command from the Objects menu (ð+L) to create a hypertext link.

5. Select the Add Link button.

6. Select the Action button.

7. To locate the NBA needed, choose Disk Library, then choose the NetPage NBA.

8. Type in the URL for the link.

9. Select Done.

10. When you move the cursor over the highlighted text, Netscape will launch and take you to the web site.

The above procedure can also be used to create links from graphics or buttons too.

Be careful!

If you change your text colour, you will loose all of your highlights and will have to remember where you put them.

If you decide to change the colour of the highlighted text, you'll find that when you try to highlight a link word to change its colour, it will launch Netscape and take you to the URL. When you go back to HyperStudio, the text will still be highlighted. Select a new colour for the highlight at this point, if you wish.

Note About Graphics:

Any .gif or .jpg files that you download can usually be brought into HS as a graphic (ð+g) which can be manipulated or as clipart (ð+a) which becomes part of the background.

If you can't bring the graphic file into HyperStudio, try converting it to a .PICT file using a program such as Graphic Converter. You may find that the size needs to be scaled down.
