Leisure Suit Larry 3: Passionate Patti in Pursuit of the Pulsating Pectorals

1989 Sierra On-Line
Designed by Al Lowe
Real-time:
Mostly driving issues, like avoiding the edge of a cliff.
An arcade bit (the river) can be bypassed, and another timed sequence (Chip
'n' Dales) is optional.

-----
Reasonability:
Resurrection faults throughout the Patti segment:
*) bamboo maze
*) drinking from the river
*) crossing the chasm
*) the pig
*) smoking grass -- Maybe it's a dumb thing to do, but it's in character for
   a Larry game.
Dead ends:
*) the marker -- Easy to miss because of pixel-hunting, it's a long time
before you need it. If you don't have it, it's not obviously the thing
   missing, either.
Lots of interface shortcomings:
*) show pass -- not in inventory, but you have it
*) Cherri's show -- ridiculously long, about 15 minutes for me
*) fitness card -- Examining it is not enough, you have to explicitly look at
   the back.
*) finding locker -- Even when you're hot, you have to try several lockers,
and hope you figured out the combination.
*) workout -- The number of reps is random, with ridiculous bounds. My first
time, I had to do 748 reps on each machine. Second time, 1022 per.
*) dating Patti -- "ask for a date" doesn't work
*) log in river -- I could see it in the river, but I didn't know what it was,
so didn't know what to call it. Why would I look in the bushes, when it's
   obviously out in the river?

-----
Difficulty:
*) locker combination -- A good challenge and a good use of copy protection.
*) selling statue -- The overall plan might be tough, although there are some
   strong hints.
*) cannibal women cage -- It's silly, but the right sort of silliness for this
game. It's supposed to be a "magic" marker.
