Proposal for 10 Costume Days a year for Western countries

I find it disappointing that Halloween is the only holiday per year where children and adults can dress up in costumes and go outside. We should both have more opportunities to dress up and go out in costumes, which is a healthy, safe and creative activity.

I also find it a waste of a good thing that so many Halloween costumes are about wicked, evil or scary things, when they really can be about anything. I propose these themes be saved for Halloween night, and wholesome and compassionate costumes be used the 10 Costume Days.

I therefor propose that the 1st of every month in the year be Costume Day for children and adults, except for January 1st and November 1st. January 1st is already a holiday for another purpose, and November 1st is too close to Halloween, seeing as it's the next day.

Maybe children and adults won't be able to go to work dressed like this, but maybe they could go to school.

Okay, I guess 10 Costume Days a year is unlikely, or maybe even a bad idea, but let's try for at least 3 more Costume Days other than Halloween.

Another idea is to go ahead and meet your neighbours once a month, or every two weeks, whether you are a child or an adult. Candy is not required. Maybe printouts of safe pictures can be distributed.
